Crispy Fried Cauliflower Wings

One thing that I miss as a vegetarian is fried chicken. Ocassionally, I find myself craving fried chicken or just wanting some chicken tenders from Chic-Fil-A. What can I say? I was a meat eater for 29 years and only a vegetarian for 8 months. The cravings come up.

But the best part is that I've found other ways to satisfy this craving. Crisy fried cauliflower wings!!!

I will admit that creating this dish was a first for me. I wasn't entirely sure where to begin, so I pulled up a ton of Pinterest and Youtube recipes. But you guys know me...I'm a lazy vegetarian. Most of the recipes I found had so many spices and different ingredients that I needed to add to my mixture, and it became discouraging. So I used what I had in my pantry and I must say, it turned out pretty well.

Crispy Fried Cauliflower Wings
Ingredients:
-Head of cauliflower or frozen
-Garlic Powder
-Onion Powder
-Plain bread crumbs
-Hot sauce
-Olive oil

Directions:
-Preheat your oven to 400°
-Using two separate bowls,  mix your garlic powder, onion powder and bread crumbs into one, and your hot sauce and olive oil into another. You can use any brand of hot sauce. I used a store brand.
-If using a head of cauliflower, you will need to cut them into small bites. Take each bite and dip into your bowl of hot sauce mixture. Then, mix into your bowl of bread crumb mixture.
-If you want a crispier crunch to your bite, repeat the previous step.
-On a cooking sheet, spread out your bites and place into your oven. Allow to bake for 30-45 minutes. Flip cauliflower over halfway between.

The hot sauce give these bites that great kick, and what I like the most about these...I didn't have to use so many different ingredients. These tasted amazing with ranch dressing. It isn't fried chicken, but it defintiely kicked that craving out of the window.
