Meatless Meatball Subs

Can I tell you guys a secret? I thought I hated meatball subs. Keyword...thought. For some reason I remember walking into Subway (back in my meat eating days) and thinking to myself, who on Earth eats meatballs with a sub sandwich. I guess I thought meatballs were solely for pasta or something you ate separately. But now that I've been experimenting with a variety of different meals, I decided I wanted to give it a try.

Meatless Meatbal Sub

I used the Gardein meatless meatballs to make this. I've used it before to make spaghetti and meatballs or Swedish meatballs, but the idea of making a meatball sub was even a shocker to me. I'm glad I gave it a try though because I loved every bit of it. Seriously. I had two helpings of this.

Ingredients:
-Gardein Meatless Meatballs (I used three meatballs from the bag on my sub)
-1 Hoagie sub roll of your choice
-2 slices of Swiss Cheese
-1/2 cup of Spinach
-1 jar Prego Traditional Sauce (this should be enough to cover all the meatballs in the bag)

Directions:
-In a pot, bring your meatballs and traditional pasta sauce to a simmer. You can use low to medium heat for this
-Allow to sit for approximately 10-15 minutes.
-Once heated, you can prepare your hoagie bun. Place toppings or additions of your choice. Add your spinach, and Swiss Cheese
-Place meatballs in your hoagie bun on top of the cheese and spinach. You can drizzle some of traditional sauce on top if you like

That's literally it. There is no right science to making a sub sandwich. It's always to your liking. I used three meatballs from the bag on my sandwich. However, if you want more you can do so.

Meatless Meatbal Sub

What I like about the Gardein meatless meatballs is that it tastes so much like meat. From the texture, seasoning, and look I would honestly think it was ground beef.

Will you guys give it a try?
